The Folding Valence Electron Dot Periodic Table was how it all began in the early 90's. This is the only Periodic Table that stresses the valence electrons (the most important AND OVERLOOKED concept in chemistry education!). You can't memorize compounds, you HAVE to know the number # of valence e-s (and the relation to e-pairs and the octet that form molecules (compounds).
