Now being a two door model is rare! I paid $75 for this car in the early 1980's with smashed in driver side door IT LOOKED BAD! It ran great so I drove it as it was, (since The only door I could find was $245 without the glass, panel, mirror... So I said 'Forget it!' and the rest would be history!

After devising a fun way to teach chemistry by folding the periodic table, to just line up elements that bond together like sodium and chlorine ('table salt') I became a chemistry fanatic and took my technique to the street

This car got me through 10 years of college (and 30 mpg on the freeway). Cross country three times

No sooner had I finished the painting of the elements in 1997 did it become official that the IUPAC would accept the name of element #106 as being the first element to be ntamed after a living person in Glenn T. Seaborg, discoverer of first plutonium and then many other isotopes and elements thereafter at he University of California (Berkeley). So when he made a rare appearance in SEPT 1997 at the College of Marin (my alma mater), after his being such an inspiration to me in my early years studying chemistry, I had to ask him to sign the Seaborgium box on the trunk (after first asking his wife, Helen if she thought it would be appropriate {She had in fact been the secretary to Ernest Orlando Lawrence when she first met Glenn}).

So after his talk I approached the van taking him away and asked if he would consider signing the car, and with the kind urging of the driver Dr. Petersen he agreed. As he stood up from the van and saw the car he put his hand over his heart and replied, "OH MY GOD!" Then when he went back to the car he mumbled something and I asked what he said...he came back and pointed to the element next to seaborgium and replied that, "We are sticking with hahnium, Dubna claimed that they discovered the element but I proved by the decay pattern that they made a mistake and they refused to admit it! So this should stay HAHNIUM!"
